Alocasia Black Velvet

A tuberous perennial that makes a fantastic house plant. This plant goes into a state of dormancy during the cooler months. Hold back on watering these on a regular basis. Bottom watering is highly suggested for these plants as they are prone to root rot. Bright indirect light is required to keep these plants growing tall and healthy. Strictly no direct light as it will burn the delicate foliage. Having the right potting medium is crucial as the Alocasia dislikes wet roots. Finger test before you water and fertilise with a diluted water fertiliser that's higher in nitrogen.
